OVERVIEW
The Multi-AR case study investigates how digital technologies and Building Information Models (BIM) can greatly improve the efficiency of municipal permitting processes for multi-residential housing in Canada. Through collaboration between architects, technology, and BIM specialists, the study examines how building regulations can be structured, translated into machine-readable data and used to automatically evaluate a project model’s compliance.
The work combines industry analysis, technical experimentation, and real project testing to better understand how automated regulatory review could help municipalities deliver housing supply faster, while maintaining compliance and design quality.
